Finals, What's the point?

Okay so it's that time of the year again when all the college and high school students are stressing out on FINALS!! Of course, right now are the finals for the college students and later on this month the seniors in high school would be starting their finals as well because of graduation. This is the time when everyone panics and tries to cram everything into their heads or everything into their final papers which usually consists of about 5+ pages and so on.

But to ask a simple question that has been asked for merely centuries, "Why do we take Finals?" "what's the point?" Well, as most teachers, professors, or the school board tells us..."it's to see how much you have learned over the course." and then again, does it really? To think about it from a young students point of view, for the most part, many students don't even take in or learn much throughout the year. I think because most of the classes they take aren't interesting enough for the student to remember anything, if that class was taught in a bad way or had too much information that most people get confused or again can't remember.

Also, when finals come up people are just studying quickly to just remember the concepts for the exam and then forget about it right after the exam. I'm pretty sure that many people who study for exams don't really know how to study for them just because of the information that's needed to know. That's just too much information for our brains to handle. Along with many of us having an outside life of work, family, and more work. Not to mention, summer's the only thing on the student's mind while taking the exams.

Overall, finals are one of the biggest concerns a student would have in school. They are a big part of your grade and it could either raise your grade or drop it. To compare it between high school and college students, college students have a it much worst and more stressful than high school students. Just the fact that high school students have more assignments that help their grade and they are given the opportunity of extra credit to help improve grades, at the most we don't. Then again, it is college...

TV at it's best

Now is it really true that in Texas, everything is bigger? I was watching this show on steak and the top places to eat food and they mentioned that Texas started the 72 oz eating contest. The contest was to eat a 72 oz steak within 1 hour and if you finish you won't have to pay for your meal.

There was also another show I watched and it's funny. There's this guy who goes around America and tries competitions on eating food. The show is called Man vs. Food and its pretty interesting how little resturants could come up with these competitions.

To think about it, these days television has changed a lot. It's like they are running out of ideas to make up new shows.

Back when i was younger, TV was all about violence and sex and drugs. That's why I like to watch Family Guy and Futurama. It's so interesting and funny.

Salmon

I was watching a video clip about Alaskan salmon and its migration patterns. Sadly every year there comes a time when these waist high fish have to go up stream and pass on its genes to their younglings. Every salmon, both male and female die after spawning because it is their way of life. To think about that makes me appreciate my parents and life a bit more.

As the video goes on. There was a part where hundreds of these silver salmons taking a wrong turn into a little swampy pond killing them all as the shore captures them. It didn't stop here, even more of these salmons follow and trying very hard whipping their tail to swim over these dead salmons.

The life cylce of a salmon seems so simple. They grow up and swim into the ocean and come back to spawn and give life to younglings and then die. Every salmon's fate comes right after a pool of orgasm but to watch hundreds of these salmon taking a wrong turn towards death without even spawning is just sad.

Unlike other fishes, to die after spawning is very odd and sad. The video that I watched portrayed the unlikely to happen, but what did happen was nature taking its course. Overall salmon fish have a simple life and death and no matter which salmon it is, they are all going to proceed through the same life cycle.

PSN

There has been a big controversy about what is really happening with the psn or playstaytion network. But after a week, Sony has put out the news about what actually happend to the network and why it has been down. After being hacked, playstaytion took action in debugging the virus so its customers would not lose money from these hackers.

The hackers found a way to get into the mainframe of the network. This allowed them to obtain access to customer's accounts and use creditcards or purchase playstation points to get other features avalible through online.

The thing I found interesting was that playstaytion never really had any outbreaks close to this. This was probably the biggest news that broke out for playstation. I know for a fact that a lot of gamers had hacked into x box and modded there system. But as for playstaytion, there was non hackable system up until this year.

It seems that playstaytion might have been keeping hackers away but lately they have probably put their gaurd down just enough for these hackers to hack into sony. Overall this outbreak has cause many gamers to stop playing games online, but will this effect the consumers to keep playing on this system.
